• Solubility: Miscible with water, ethanol, acetone, ethylene glycol, and ether.
• Chemical Reactivity:
  • Acts as an emulsifier, humectant, and neutralizer in non-polar solvents.
  • Forms a curing agent with carbomer at 12–15 parts by mass (curing conditions: 80℃/4h or 120℃/2h).
  • Functions as a vulcanization activator for natural and synthetic rubbers.
  • Forms nearly neutral long-chain fatty acid salts, suitable as emulsifiers for oils and waxes.

Applications

   • Used to mask aluminum ions in solution before complexometric titration with EDTA.
