    Performance and Application of Span 40

    Specification: Span 40/S-40

    1. Span 40 is soluble in oils and organic solvents, and disperses in hot water.
    2. Applications:
      • In food and cosmetics industries: As an emulsifier and dispersant.
      • In emulsion polymerization: As an emulsifying stabilizer.
      • In printing inks: As a dispersant.
      • As an additive for textile waterproof coatings and an emulsifying dispersant for oils.
      • Widely used as an antifogging agent for polymers, such as 1-1.7% in PVC agricultural films and 0.5-0.7% in EVA films.

    Packaging and Storage

    • Span S-20, Span S-80, and Span S-85 are packaged in 50Kg plastic drums.
    • Span S-40 and Span S-60 are packaged in 20Kg woven bags.
    • Store and transport as general chemicals.
    • Store in a dry, ventilated place.
    • Shelf life: 2 years.
